As a first step, you'll need to create a "Gift Card" department. At the top of the "Products" dashboard, under "Departments," then click "New Department" at the top right. For "Department/Class Information," use Gift Card, and configure the settings as needed.

How do you create a Gift Card product? Do you need to? The only way I was able to get to the tool was to search for "Gift Card" as a product.

Issuing Gift Cards

In an Invoice, add the "Gift Card" product. This will prompt the user to enter the Gift Card number, and the amount to be added to the card for purchases. This information will be recorded in CheckIn, and available for future reference. Click "Continue," and the product will be added to the Invoice.

Redeeming Gift Cards

When taking payment on an Invoice, use the "Redeem GC" button. This will prompt the user to enter the Gift Card Number. Click "OK," and the payment will be added to the Invoice.

Checking a Gift Card Balance

You can check the balance and history of a Gift Card from the "Invoices" dashboard by clicking "Check CR Balance," and entering the Gift Card Number.
