If you find that the functions in CheckIn that send email messages using your default client are not working, check your Security settings in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy. Choose "Automation" from the left pane, and look for "FileMaker Pro Advanced" in the right pane. "Mail" should be listed as an application that FileMaker Pro can control, and it should be checked.
